Attendances & Supporters

Supporters are the only reason for the existence of professional football. Without supporters willing to spend their money, football would be amateur. Traditional match attending supporter measures such as attendance levels and stadium capacity utilisation remain important barometers of the underlying health of a club / league / national team. Other traditional indirect measures of supporter levels such as surveys or sponsor values provide other benchmarks for wider levels of support. In recent years the capturing of data through social media and web registration have provided better profiles of the wider non-match day going fan levels of clubs and national teams.
